Sleep Disorders Center at the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw
Sleep Laboratory
EEG and Sleep Laboratory consists of two rooms adapted to perform:
- examinations of bioelectrical activity of brain – electroencephalography (EEG)
- all-night examinations of sleep – polysomnography (PSG)
- assessment of excessive daytime sleepiness – multiple sleep latency test (MSLT)
- assessment of wakefulness – maintenance of wakefulness test (MWT)
The Laboratory is provided with the following medical equipment:
- two EEG and PSG units (EEG DigiTrack, produced by ELMIKO).
- portable PSG unit (AURA PSG, produced by GRASS TELEFACTOR), that
enable to perform ambulatory all-night studies, recorded while the patient sleeps at home and studies of motor disorders
during sleep, when the patient gets up of bed during sleep (sleepwalking)
- unit for screening of apnea, snoring and other sleep related breathing disorders (Embletta, produced by
Embla)
- devices for actigraphy (Actiwatch Plus, produced by Cambridge Neurotechnology),
used for diagnosing insomnia, circadian rhythm sleep disorders, Restless Legs Syndrome
- devices for actigraphy (PAM-RL, produced by IM Systems), used for diagnosing
Restless Legs Syndrome
